Meet Your Coach

Adrienne Swavey

I grew up in a small town with a strong-minded family. Parents who met in the military, a father who was a Police Officer and a mother who was a Firefighter, so strength and resilience was at the forefront of my upbringing. I have an older sister and a younger brother. We are a family who grew up with a high value of tough, hard skills. As I grow into myself, I am learning to embrace and utilize soft skills in my relationship and life. I think this is part of what makes me a great coach for couples as I have a really great balance in both understanding and empathy in all gender roles. Being a female barber to strictly male clients for the last 15 years has given me a lot of insight with men in relationships. I met my husband at my 30th birthday and was pregnant with our daughter right after my 31st birthday! We got married and had our daughter all in the same year, so we inevitably had to learn each other in the middle of a storm. Our relationship went into a whirlwind and landed us in counseling. Which given the option I wouldn’t erase it if I had the chance. The lessons we learned along the way brought us so much clarity and connection that I could have never dreamed possible. And with that I feel such sense of purpose to share with the world the gift of getting through some of the worst storms you never saw coming and how to prepare for the next one!

I started noticing I was taking the lessons we had learned in counseling and passing them on to my clients, friends and family. And every time I did I would get the same commentary from them “Hey you are really good at this, I feel like I should pay you.” During the pandemic I lost my job for a few months and felt a bit low with all the things going on in the world, so I quit watching the news and turned to a positive podcast that would help me through. Which is where I discoverd the podcast “On Purpose” by Jay Shetty. I feel in love with his wisdom and compassion for helping others. I discovered he had a life coaching school so I decided to finally start believing the things my friends and family were saying and starting believing in myself and I took the leap! I am now a Jay Shetty certified life coach and grateful for entire journey to get here!

My goal in coaching isn’t to get anyone to love me or what I do, it is to get people to learn to fall more in love with themselves.
